STEELS & Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience: Impact Through Inquiry at Asbury Woods

Participate a one of a kind professional development experience held outdoors on the scenic trails, forests, and wetlands of Asbury Woods. Spend the day learning in and from nature as you explore field tested strategies, collect and analyze environmental data, and plan authentic student action projects—all aligned to PA STEELS and Environmental Literacy & Sustainability standards. What: This full‑day workshop prepares educators in the Lake Erie watershed (Pennsylvania’s Erie and Crawford Counties) to design and facilitate Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) grounded in local environmental and watershed issues. Participants will engage in hands‑on field investigations exploring local environments, data collection and analysis, and environmental action project planning that connects student learning to authentic community needs. Eligible P–12 formal and nonformal educators in the Lake Erie watershed will be provided a $100 participation stipend.
