Exploring the Deep Ocean with NOAA: Alpena, MI Workshop

Dive into the deep-sea with NOAA Ocean Exploration! The Exploring the Deep Ocean with NOAA Workshop will highlight the tools and technologies currently being used in ocean discovery along with ways to bring that excitement into classrooms. 

  • What: This no-cost, 8-hour workshop will introduce participants to ocean exploration tools and technologies, demonstrate a variety of hands-on lessons and student investigations designed to guide students’ sensemaking of deep-sea phenomena, and explore additional free, online ocean exploration education resources.
  • Who: Designed for middle and high school age content but open to teachers of any age range
  • When: 8:30-4:30pm EDT, Saturday, October 10, 2026
