Meaghan works with Michigan coastal communities and partners surrounding Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron to enhance the sustainable use of the Great Lakes. She joined the Michigan Sea Grant team in 2018.
Her focus areas include Great Lakes literacy and learning, place-based stewardship education, community resilience, and biodiversity conservation. She provides co-leadership for the Michigan Sea Grant education team along with regional leadership for CGLL. She serves on the Sea Grant Education Network (SGEN) Executive Committee as a Member as Large along with the Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) Board of Directors.
Meaghan earned a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science and French) from Illinois State University and a Master of Arts (Political Science) from Saint Louis University. Prior to joining Extension and Sea Grant, Meaghan collaborated on many stewardship projects with them through the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative regional network.
In her free time, Meaghan enjoys playing roller derby (Recycler, #333), gardening, composting, and hanging out with her growing menagerie of fauna and flora.
