

Jill Bartolotta
Education Specialist

Jill Bartolotta is the Education Specialist for Ohio Sea Grant and The Ohio State University Stone Laboratory. She leads, develops, coordinates, promotes, and evaluates education and outreach initiatives.
Jill develops lesson plans, curriculum, outreach programs, field trips, and workshop experiences for educators, students, and all learners. Her programs focus on Lake Erie issues of concern, coastal stewardship, environmental literacy, and workforce development.
She previously served as the Emerging Contaminants Specialist and Extension Educator for Ohio Sea Grant where she focused on the issue of plastic pollution in the Great Lakes. Her research and education tools have been used to inform plastics policy and international research and education projects.
Jill earned a dual degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management and Outdoor Education with a Minor in Marine Biology from the University of New Hampshire. She continued her studies by earning a Master of Science in integrated Coastal Ecosystem Science, Policy, and Management.
Her love for the Great Lakes extends beyond her work and you can find her paddleboarding all summer long.
