Text highlights that the event trains educators to become PA Certified MWEE Ambassadors, outlines key learning goals, and lists event details: March 21, 2026, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM at Asbury Woods in Fairview, PA. Lunch is not provided, and a $100 stipend is available. Logos of partner organizations and a QR code appear on the flyer.

This full‑day workshop – Impact Through Inquiry: STEELS & MWEEs – prepares K–12 formal and nonformal educators in the Lake Erie watershed (Pennsylvania’s Erie and Crawford Counties) to design and facilitate Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) grounded in local environmental and watershed issues. Participants will engage in hands‑on field investigations exploring Asbury Woods’ meadow and stream, data collection and analysis, and environmental action project planning that connects student learning to authentic community needs.

Educators will explore instructional strategies aligned to the PA STEELS standards and work directly with experienced MWEE facilitators from partner organizations. By the end of the session, participants will leave with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to implement a complete MWEE. Those who complete the MWEE 101 online module will also earn certification as Pennsylvania MWEE Ambassadors.

This workshop is supported by Asbury Woods, Stroud Water Research Center, Pennsylvania Sea Grant, and Northwest Tri‑County Intermediate Unit with funding from a NOAA B‑WET grant.
