Join Pennsylvania Sea Grant and the Center for Great Lakes Literacy’s educator professional development program – A Deeper Dive into the Great Lakes Topic: Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) on February 26, 2026, 4:30-6:00 PM EST. This 90-minute session will include an overview of HABs, an introduction to MWEEs, a guest lecture from Dominique Derminio, Ph.D., discussion time for resource sharing, and tips for incorporating the topic with your learners.
What’s Involved?
- Complete the prerequisite three-hour, asynchronous Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Great Lakes Literacy education exploration (GLLee) learning module prior to the session’s start to be eligible for this program. Note: You will need to use a personal Gmail address (i.e., not your school Gmail address) to access the module’s materials.
- Participate in the virtual, synchronous 90-minute HABs session.
- Submit the evaluation form at the end of the session.
A $100 stipend is available for Pennsylvania formal and nonformal educators of 3rd-12th grade learners for the completion of the “What’s Involved?” items.
