A Deeper Dive into the Great Lakes Topic: Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS)
Register today for Pennsylvania Sea Grant and the Center for Great Lakes Literacy’s free educator professional development program – A Deeper Dive into the Great Lakes Topic: Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) scheduled for October 1, 2026, 4:30-6:00 PM Eastern.
This 90-minute session will include an overview of AIS, a guest lecture from Casey Bradshaw-Wilson, Ph.D., an introduction to Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs), and discussion time for resource sharing and tips for incorporating the topic with your learners.

- Who: Formal and nonformal educators of 4th-12th grade learners
- When: Thursday, October 1, 2026, 4:30-6:00 PM Eastern
- Where: Virtual via Zoom… The Zoom link, along with any additional details, will be sent by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

What’s Involved?
- Complete the prerequisite asynchronous Aquatic Invasive Species GLLee | Google Classroom Module – Center for Great Lakes Literacy learning module prior to the session’s start to be eligible for this program. Note: You will need to use a personal Gmail address (i.e., not your school Gmail address) to access the module’s materials. Estimated time of completion is three hours.
- Participate in the October 1st virtual, synchronous 90-minute Aquatic Invasive Species session
- Submit the evaluation form at the end of the session.
A $100 stipend is available for Pennsylvania formal and nonformal educators of 3rd-12th grade learners for the completion of the “What’s Involved?” items.
